‘Henry The 8th Wives' had made a history in England as well as in the world. Multiple marriages and separation of England church from Rome are important historical events. Henry VIII had a long history of marriage and romantic life; some say history of lunatic marriages and romances. He did whatever is to be done to fulfill the desire to have son to succeed him. King Henry VIII
Born as Henry Tudor, 24th June 1491 as second son of Henry VII became the king of England on June 24th 1509; his married elder brother the first choice to be king died before he could become king. As per tradition Henry VIII married the widow Lady Katherine of Aragon of his elder brother's widow; Katherine is the first wife of Henry VIII. Katherine of Aragon – Spanish princess the first wife of Henry VIII, married on June11th 1509 at Greyfriars church. Though many children were born, one daughter survived. Henry VIII divorced her because her past child bearing age; Henry wanted a boy to succeed him. This had resulted conflict with the Pope of Rome. Katherine died naturally in 1536. Anne Boleyn – the second wife of Henry, married on January 25th 1533 at Westminster Abbey church; She also had many children, but only one girl survived, Henry had conflicts with Anne and decided to behead her in tower on May 19th 1536. Jane Seymour – the third wife of Henry, married on 20th 1536 at York Place church. It is said that Henry really loved her. But she died at childbirth on October 27th 1537. She and Henry had a boy named Edward. Anne of Cleves – the fourth wife of Henry married on January 6th 1540 at Greyfriars church after three years of Jane Seymour's death, She was divorced in 1540 on being not the royal standard. She died of natural causes in 1557 Katherine Howard – a court lady, the fifth wife of Henry married on July 28th 1540 at Hampton court palace, she was beheaded for having affairs on February 13th 1542 Catherine Parr – the sixth wife of Henry married on July 12th 1543 at Hampton Court Palace, she has no children with Henry; Henry died in January 1547. Well in this article I'm going to tell you specifically about the story of each Henry VIII's wives. Well if you've done a little reading about his history, I'm pretty sure that you've read that Henry VII has eight wives but two of them are dead because Henry VII killed them. It is also an interesting fact since Henry VII married three Katherines with different spellings. However, now I'm going to tell you about the history of Henry the 8th wives. First you have to know about Catherine of Aragon who was Henry's first wife. As a little history background, Catherine was the daughter of Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain. Catherine is also a devotee to the catholic and it's also surprising that she's older than Henry. However, the story of Catherine and Henry didn't last long since Catherine can't give Henry a male heir. The last thing that Henry would do is to divorce her although the Catholic Church didn't permit the divorce. Second, Henry also married to Anne Boleyn who was the mother of Elizabeth I. there's this interesting fact about Boleyn has six fingers on her hand and she also have a red mark on her neck where the devil has touched her before. The relationship between Boleyn and Henry is also another reason of the divorce of Henry and Catherine. The story also ends tragically where Boleyn can't give a male heir for Henry and she's also charged for adultery. The third wife is also known as Jane Seymour who's able to give Henry the first son he ever wanted. There's also an interesting fact where Henry was betrothed to Jane Seymour within one day of his second wife's death. Unfortunately Jane Seymour died two weeks right after giving birth to her only son, Edward I. Anna of Cleves is Henry's fourth wife. Henry married Anna just because he saw a picture of her and decided to marry her by proxy. However, by the time they meet, Henry thinks that Anna is ugly and Henry immediately annul the marriage. Henry also gave Anna the Hever Castle as a part of the annulment. Henry also married two other Catherine which is Katherine Howard and Katherine Parr. Unfortunately Katherine is also executed by Henry himself. As for Katherine Howard who is a widow, she took care of Henry since he's not in a best condition anymore. Katherine Howard is also known as Henry's last wife who regains Henry's relationship with his daughters. |
